Remote Tech Support with Log Me In

LogMeIn Log Me In is a great tech support tool that I have been using for years. While you might be able to talk someone through downloading and installing the client program, but it better to plan ahead and install and setup this program yourself. There are paid versions of this program, but unless you have a lot of computer you need to support the free version is good more most people.

The first thing you will want to do is create an account on the LogMeIn website. Once that is ready then you will want to download the client program on the computers you will want to remotely access. Then log into your account and you will see the computers you setup listed. If they have an Internet connection and are turned on (and logged in) then you will be able to take remote control of the computer.

Now the free version of this program has some limitations and you can’t transfer files from one computer to the other, but that is what other services like SkyDrive are great for. The other advantage of this program LogMeIn Ignition with is a mobile application. Ignition is for iPhone and Andriod. I do not recommend trying this application on your iPhone or Android phone, but it is great on the iPad and I use it regularly on my Android Tablet. The Ignition application is not free and is expensive for an application, but is worth it and turns your tablet into a full PC.
