RokuFor Christmas there will be many people getting a new Internet ready TV, or an Roku box, or a new XBox (or other gaming system) and they will be using these devices to stream video from service like Netflix, Amazon InstantVideo, YouTube, and other services. How people use the Internet

This Internet has evolved with time and has changed how people use computers and Internet enabled devices, like cellphone and tablets. This also has changed what people call technical support for.  People get real upset when they can’t get on Facebook, have problem accessing their Bank online, or pay their bills online. They call about not getting their flight reservations emails, or if they are interrupted making an online purchase.

Cyber Monday

Cyber MondayCyber Monday is the day everyone gets back to work from their Thanksgiving holiday and use their companies Internet connection to do their online Christmas Shopping. Many online retailers make a lot of sales on this day. People has Black Friday and the weekend to shop in stores and now are going online to see if they can get a better deal.

Office networks will be tested, employees upset that online stores are being blocked by the corporate web filter, and customers calling to complain about why their service is sooooo slow.

Speedtest

Speedtest.netSpeedtest.net is a great website for running speed test. It does an download, upload, and ping test to the server that provides the best results. You can share the results via email link, Facebook, Twitter, or formats a link for posting to a forum. The results page also shows you public IP address and allows you to rate your ISP. You can create an account on Speedtest.net and they will keep a record of your speed test.  They also offer a more in-depth ping test at Pingtest.net. They also have Speedtest Apps for iPhone and Android smartphones.
